What a difference a year makes with the Christmas Tree Pickup. 2017 was our coldest year ever with single-digit temperatures and this year was one of our warmest. Well done and I can’t say enough about the teamwork. Thanks to all the scouts, leaders, parish leaders, and volunteers who make this event such a success. We help citizens, this event helps us fund our programs, and the parish uses this revenue for church service projects. I was really impressed with how the teams worked and personally reflected on how our SPL worked long and hard collecting trees. They were at it early and ended late. That’s leadership. Well done and many thanks to our customers who give us the opportunity to earn the donations.

This week we thanked Kevin O’Neil (ASPL), Ben Sprague (ASPL), Ben Clarke (Den Chief), Nolan Roberts (Patrol Leader), Simon Cadavid (Patrol Leader) and Lucas Anthony (Patrol Leader) for serving their terms as leaders in at the end of 2018.

The newly elected leaders (1st term 2019) are: Nick (SPL), Ben (SPL Elect when Nick’s ages out in March), Lucas (ASPL), and JJ (ASPL). New Patrol Leaders -  Freddy, Lucian, and Christian. Scribe – Miles, Den Chiefs’ - Xander, Simon and Kevin.  These leaders committed to attending the PLC meetings (Monday night 6-7:30 pm Monument Hall); 1/28/19, 2/25/19, 3/25/19, 4/29/19, 5/20/19, 6/10/19) and the various Troop outings.  

Note on 2019 Leadership: We don’t have a troop quartermaster and this is ok. Each patrol designated a patrol quartermaster and this work should be done at the patrol level. We don’t need other positions at this time and will make adjustments for adding a Troop Guide in the summer term. Junior assistant scoutmasters include Luke Pautler and ASM’s include Logan and Will.

Last Friday night Will D. and Logan led the Spirit of Adventure (SOA) 2018 Eagle Award Dinner Pledge, Oath, and Law in front of 500 distinguished guests and 188 new Eagle Scouts. I am very proud that our Troop had this opportunity. Check out the Troop Facebook page for more pictures
