Scout Leadership
Our Troop is a youth led troop. The three aims of our Troop are character development, citizenship training, and mental and physical fitness. To accomplish these aims, Scouting employs eight methods: the ideals, the patrol method, the outdoors, advancement, association with adults, personal growth, leadership development, and the uniform. We encourage you to take the Boy Scout training offered on-line and by the District to find out what we are trying to accomplish and how you can help. A deeper description on what we mean by youth led is available at Scoutmaster.
The Troop holds elections three to four times year. Scouts will have a chance to choose the leader of the troop. There are many leadership positions available for scouts in the Troop. A description of each position is available in the BSA Handbook and within the Directory of Scout Leadership Positions.
