Luke Pautler’s Eagle Court of Honor is this upcoming Sunday, October 6 starting at 3:30 pm. I would encourage all our scouts, parents and siblings to come and attend.

This month we also have the DropOff & SwapOff on Saturday, October 19. We will need scouts. Lucien Aibel suggested this might be a good opportunity to introduce some friends to scouting and get to know the Troop. So think about asking a friend to help.

We are hoping for some cooler weather and a frost for our overnight at the end of the month at Nobscot. Our former SPL, Nick Higgins, left Monday morning for basic training. Celebrating his last couple days Nick and Will visited Tree Top Adventures in Canton and said it was great. This is worth checking out as a possible Troop outing.

2020 Summer Camp Announcement: 

• The council has announced that our usual summer camp haunt, TL Storer, will not be opening next summer. The TL Storer property is not being sold and the council will re-evaluate programs in three years. While summer programs will not be offered at TL Storer this coming summer, they are offering a new winter camping experience at TL Storer and it sounds interesting.
• The council has offered to reschedule us at Wah-Tut-Ca, which is a nearby summer camp that the Troop has visited for the past couple of years for a rowing experience. Wah-Tut-Ca has programs that are similar to TL Storer. We are looking into this and other options. While Wah-Tut-Ca is a very nice camp within our council, there are some unique characteristics of TL Storer that the scouts have liked and we will look at nearby camps. Meanwhile, we are still planning the week of July 12-18 for summer camp. The scouts and adult leaders will be evaluating options over the next 4 to 6 weeks and we will inform the entire Troop of the decision on location and potential date changes as soon as the decision is made
