Next week we will begin to plan for Klondike. Meanwhile, brush up on your lashings, fire building, first aid, hypothermia, following and giving directions, leadership, camp inspection requirements (neat and by the book), orienteering, and fun things like the tomahawk throw. The Klondike is a good opportunity to hone your scout skills and be tested and timed against other Troops. You scouts know this and now its time to put it into practice.
I had a chance this week to break bread with our former SPL and now Assistant Scoutmaster on the west coast, John Rzepczynski. John is studying Environmental Science at Santa Clara University and is a member of the Santa Clara Sailing Team. He recently competed in a regatta in San Diego (that’s why he missed Christmas tree pickup) and he was a former member of the BC high sailing team. He’s enjoying college, sailing and is a happy scout. Another former Troop 132 SPL, Alex Cancio, come back and attended our first 2019 Troop meeting. We welcome all our Troop alumni to come to any meeting and we look forward to seeing them and hearing about their adventures beyond our troop
